Day 2:
OVERHAULING AND DISMANTLING ACTIVITIES
Activities:
a. OVERHAULING OF TURBINE BEARING COMPONENTS WITHIN THE TURBINE PIT
(After overhauling lower bracket components)
- Removed the bolts from the turbine’s head cover.
- Overhauled the turbine guide bearing housing.
- Overhauled head cover of turbine.
- Overhauled all 16 guide vanes.
- Overhauled runner along with runner shaft.
- Loosened bolts of bottom ring.
- Overhauled the bottom ring of turbine.
- Overhauled the lower labyrinth ring.
- Repaired draft tube and spiral casing by welding the eroded sections.
b. OVERHAULING OF THE LOWER BRACKET SECTION
1. Removed the generator’s lower bracket.
2. Removed the locking pin from the set by welding the pin on the lower bracket.
3. Removed platform which sits at the base of the lower guide bearing.
Day 3
CLEANING AND REPAIRING ACTIVITIES
Start time: 7:00 a.m. End time: 7:00 p.m.
Activities:
1. Coupling bolts of runner shaft and runner taken out by hydraulic bolt tensioner.
2. Measured elongation and pressure with dial gauge and pressure gauge respectively.
3. Joints of runner shaft cleaned and prepared for reassembly.
4. Runner shaft reassembled with another runner and tightness of bolt similarly measured during coupling.
5. Cleaned the nut-bolts, flanges, split pins, guide vane arms, turn buckles and other disassembled parts.
6. Prepared the workshop repaired parts of turbine pit section for assembly.
7. EOT crane was used to assemble the lower labyrinth of the turbine.
8. Assembled the bottom ring.
9. Attached guide vanes on bottom ring.
(* Note: Day 4 will start with the continuation of cleaning & repairing activities and position of guide vane bush will be labelled on head cover.)
